I BELIEVE IN BLOGGING.

Suggestions for ingesting this content: Press play on the audio just below, then scroll down as you listen. It’s short, I promise.

I believe blogging should be fun.

I believe popups are largely

INVISIBLE

and that bloggers themselves hate pop ups. Why do we continue to use marketing tactics we ourselves don’t approve of? Because somebody told us we should?

I believe

you should be monetizing your art from day one : everybody should blog even if they never publish a word : all bloggers should dabble in  audio or video. It’s good for the soul : metrics are a huge distraction for what actually matters: what matters : change

I BELIEVE 9-5 JOBS ARE FROM THE INDUSTRIAL ERA

and should be replaced with a BETTER system that accommodates how people actually WANT to work. I believe blogging should be widely regarded as a vital marketing industry, because it is.

I believe blogging should be taught in higher education. I believe there should be blogging degrees. 20 years from now I want to hand out the world’s first M.B.A. diploma: Masters in Blogging Administration

I BELIEVE COPYING OTHER PEOPLE’S CONTENT IS A SUREFIRE PATH TO BLOG MEDIOCRITY

I believe the best ****ing content is what is created out of your heart, when you’re angry, overjoyed, or fired up.

I believe the best topic to write about is the topic you can’t shut up about.

I believe the best bloggers on the planet can’t do anything BUT blog. It’s what they were born to do.

I believe in minimal site design. Stop overwhelming us.

I believe in religious

 use

of

line breaks,

and large fonts the help old fogie eyes like mine.

I believe blogging conferences are where it’s at, and that if you’re really serious about building a career online, you’d go to them and

sacrifice

sleep.

I believe anybody can Blog

I believe anybody can blog and make money. I believe anybody within earshot can blog and become a mega blogger. However, I still believe few of you will.

I believe the willingness to fail and fall short is the last big hurdle on your quest to

stand out.

I believe bloggers who are just in it for the money are boring.

I believe most bloggers are scared to produce the content they REALLY want to produce.

That includes me.

I DO NOT BELIEVE LOYALTY IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING

I believe causing trouble for something you believe in is necessary to make change happen…And that people who have the guts to make change are rewarded. Some of the best ideas ever came from the most disloyal people in the world. The United States of America is one such idea.

I BELIEVE MORE BLOGGERS

should reach out and help other bloggers. I believe bloggers who only write what their audience WANTS them to write are actually doing them a huge disservice. I believe whoever termed the phrase “the riches are in the niches” is an asshole. Blog about what you want and about what you think needs to be said.

I believe blogging is a stupid word but a serious idea.

I believe Pinterest marketing sucks for me, but I also believe on finding out which channels work for YOU.

I believe you should challenge everything I’ve ever said, including this.

Take a stand on YOUR principles and YOUR beliefs. Not what anybody else said is right or wrong or good or bad.

I believe blogging is a legit path to quitting a job you hate

but freelancing is the BEST path to quitting a job you hate.

I believe in 4 hour work weeks, and 70 hour work weeks.

I believe jobs suck, but work is awesome.

Whoever first said “you need to follow your passion” was an idiot, but I hate to admit they were probably wise.

I BELIEVE IN THE FUTURE OF DO YOU EVEN BLOG

I believe I’ll be a millionaire entrepreneur.

I believe blogging will be even bigger

and more important over the next 10 years, and that WE are the change-makers the next generation will be jealous of.

I believe the best time to start blogging was 2001, but the second best time is today.

I believe blogging has the power to change lives. In written words and on podcasts and on youtube and on the INTERNET.

But more importantly…

MOST IMPORTANTLY…

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
